This is Dr. Helen Yang (Hongyan), a Licensed Acupuncturist (L.Ac.) and Licensed Massage Therapist (L.M.T.) who provides alternative treatments for pain and many other ailments. I am passionate about helping people achieve optimum health, strength, and vitality.

Before falling in love with Chinese Medicine, I had received my MD in Preventive Medicine on Environmental Medicine from Norman Bethune Medical University of China in 1989, and worked as an intern doctor in the gastrointestinal and infectious disease departments there. Always having had the dream of going abroad, in 2004, I earned my Ph.D. in Bio-Medicine from Helsinki University of Finland. When I came to the United States, I first conducted infectious disease research at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and then worked on cancer drug development at a Biotech Company.

In 2006, I had severe chronic postpartum pain that had greatly benefited from massage and acupuncture. This special experience make me realized that my passion is to help people face to face and became a Licensed Massage Therapist in 2011. Initially, I worked in a variety of the best therapeutic massage clinics in the Greater Washington area before I went back to graduate school for  Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine.  I completed my 4-year fruitful study, earned a Master degree in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine,  and became a licensed Acupuncturist in 2016.  After years of running my own clinic, and continue education, I am an expert in acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine.
